Evaluation

The year is divided into four terms. The teachers' evaluation for each term is composed
of daily marks, class tests, term papers, laboratory marks and quality of participation.

There are common examinations in the 2nd and 4th terms which are included in the grade
appearing on the report. The overall average for each student is weighted. Students will receive
instructions in math class during the term so they will know how to calculate the average.

Examinations

Formal examinations will be administered to students at the end of the Second Term
and the Fourth Term. The Minister of Education sets uniform examinations in designated
subjects in Secondary III, IV and V. These are normally administered in the month of June
and replace school examinations in these courses. Students may not be absent for
examinations unless there is a valid reason.

June Exam Exemptions

Students who achieve an average of 85% or higher in a given course over the four
terms of the year may be exempted from writing the June exam for the course. Naturally
this applies only to teacher prepared exams; MEQ & MAPCO, SAPCO exams are obligatory for all
students. This exemption is a reward for consistent academic achievement at school, and
will provide extra time for students to study for subjects in which they are not doing as well.

Homeroom

Students are assigned to a homeroom group for the purposes of report card
distribution, and other logistical matters. Currently, there is no homeroom period
included in the daily schedule.
