Thursday, November 22nd, 2007  CSA Video Conference
The new Community Learning Center
project at QHS bought new infrastructure
equipment to the school.  One of the
highlights of the project has been the
new video conference equipment that
has been installed in the conference
room located in the library.
Today after a few weeks of preparation we hosted our first video
conference classroom.  The Canadian Space Agency has a program
that allows students to link through video with one of the engineers
from the agency.
QHS teacher Charles Sias was proud of how the students prepared
for the conference and how they presented their satelite models.   .
The topic of the video conference was Communication.  How
communication transmission works and how it works from space
were some of the topics addressed by Mr. Pellerin.

Michelle Fontaine, CQSB Video conference consultant was present
to record the conference.  Ms. Fontaine thought it was a success
and she looks forward to future sessions with QHS students.  Ms.
Fontaine has been very helpful in helping QHS staff members learn
about the new equipment and usages for video conferencing in the
class.
The photo above shows the QHS students in the conference room listening to
CSA engineer, Tony Pellerin.  On the screen you see Gaspe Polyvalente in the
top left, QHS in the top right, and CSA engineer Tony Pellerin speaking from
Montreal in the bottom left.
In the top right we see the video conference screen and QHS student
Cedric Lafrance presenting his model satellite to CSA engineer
Tony Pellerin and the class at Gaspe Polyvalente)
A special thank you goes out to Canadian
Space Agency engineer, Tony Pellerin and
to Communication officer, Louisa
Caporuscio.  We here at QHS appreciate
all the time and effort that you did to make
this video lesson a success.
